Michael is the Chief Research Officer (CRO) of Π ∩ ϟ and is a neuroscience professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on how the brain integrates conflicting multisensory information that varies in space and time. Michael is also investigating motion sickness while using VR headsets.

At his Multisensory Brain and Cognition Laboratory's mission, their mission is to: to reveal the neural and behavioural processes involved in multisensory integration that ultimately guide human perception, cognition and action in the normal and aging CNS as well as individuals with disease and damage and, using this as a foundation, develop the best assessment, rehabilitation and training approaches to treat neurological disorders.
